Butterfly Conservatory

Welcome! The Joseph L. Popp, Jr. Butterfly Conservatory is a 3,000 sq. ft. indoor tropical garden located in historic Oneonta, NY. We exhibit various species of tropical birds and reptiles year-round, and butterflies* during the warmer months of spring, summer and fall.

Our aim is to introduce our visitors both to the wonderment and to the spectacular biodiversity of the natural world. Our exhibit includes invertebrates, fish, reptiles, and various species of beautiful tropical birds among others. It is a fantastic family activity and learning experience for all ages!

COPES CORNERS PARK offers recreation and family camping along the scenic Butternut Creek in Otsego County, New York.

For recreation the park offers fishing, kayak and canoe launching into the Butternut Creek, horseshoe courts, open fields and lots of mature shade trees.  Their three rental pavilions are often used for family reunions, picnics and parties.

Gilbert Lake State Park

Gilbert Lake State Park’s lake and three ponds lie in wooded, hilly terrain in the foothills of the Catskills. In addition to cabins and campsites, the park has more than 12 miles of interconnecting trails for hikers, skiers, snowmobilers and snowshoers. Playgrounds and a disc golf course, as well as swimming, boat rentals, boating (car top/hard bottom boats) and fishing are also featured.

Gilbert Lake is also home to the New York State Civilian Conservation Corps Museum.

Stagecoach Run Art Festival
